SO/0 ^laM S&&t<mf

On August 28th, 2006, we strolled into the doors of Southbridge High School as the "guinea pigs" for the new addition
to the school, Freshman Academy. Located in the Cole Trade building and secluded from the rest of the students, we began
getting used to our new surroundings and tried our best to avoid getting hit by senior cars pulling'out of the parking lot. Although
our eighth grade class had over 200 students, we were starting our high school career with aboufnalf of that, 1 1 5. Late September
rolled around, and it was time to elect our first class officers. Without surprise, we elected Samantha Jones as our Class President,
Kelly Blake as Vice President, Jody Hayes as Treasurer, Danielle Lafleche as Secretary, and Danny Lora as Historian. We began
fundraising for the much anticipated upcoming event, the Thanksgiving Rally. Selling braided breads and tasty cookie dough was
our brilliant fundraising idea, leaving us with hardly enough to pay for the Thanksgiving activities. The theme for the rally was
Las Vegas, and we cleverly found a way to. combine Michael Jackson, a wedding between Kelsie Tremblay and Nick Ward, and
Napoleon Dynamite into an unexpected 2 nd place skit that we loved to brag about. After finding Mrs. McKinstry Gentry Allen's
keys, we continued to make, the seniors jealous. We attended a number of field trips such as the Newport Mansions and Gillette
Stadium. We tHen ended Jjie year with the. last field day that will probably ever be held and said goodbye to our beloved history
teacher Mrs. Jowett. '

Our second year'bf high school was to begin and we were already approaching problems. The list stating who had paid
their dues was missing, and we were already in the negatives. What a way to start our sophomore year. On a lighter note, we were
finally let but of the "cage" and discovered what the other side of the building looked like. With our new principal, Mr. Bishop,
and our new assistant principal, Mr. Leach, came a new rule; no hoodies and no sweatpants. After unwillingly adjusting to this
new rule,- we elected our new officers. We elected Donnie Altiery as our Class President, Kelly Blake as Vice President. Mike
Agbortoko as Treasurer, Danielle Lafleche as Secretary, and Kelsie Tremblay as Historian. The rally was coming up again, and
we were less than ready for it this year. The theme was "Dancing through the Decades," and we selected the 80's. After a slight
mix up with the music, the sophomore curse was continued and we "twisted" into a last place finish for skit, poster, spirit, and
the parade. YOU inc.,' a program for underprivileged students that would like to attend college was started*at our school. Fifty
students from the school attended summer classes, SAT and MCAfrprep courses and tutoring sessions, as well as visited colleges
to help them prepare them for their futures. Next in line for us was the wretched MCAS test that no one wanted to sit through:
however it was a very important part of our future and even more of a big deal for the teachers. We sat there for hours taking the
test that would help us to graduate.

Junior year came quickly,. -and we noticed a change in. our building once again. The library was missing and in its place,
a new hallway and a courtyard. Class'elections were held and our class officers remained the same, except for our new Secretary,
Stephanie Rossi. We began raising morrey for prom and eventually formed a prom committee. We decided "In My Life" would be
held at the Sturbridge'Host Hotel. The Thanksgiving rally arrived again with the "Disney" theme picked by the Student Council
and we created & hilarious skit featuring characters such as Eeycre played by Hashian Rosario, and Snow White, ironically
played by the wonderful Mike Agbortoko. The dwarfs competed in a'ch'eerleading tournament against the witches' henchmen and
brought home the.frophy after Donnie Altiery, playing Prince Charming, woke Snow White with his cherry chap-stick lips: "He
kissed a"girl, and he liked it". Although'.our skit and poster wete outstanding, the first place position was taken from us. The new-
year quickly approached and-wij-began looking into colleges and scheduling SAT dates. Much to the seniors' surprise, we pulled
off an amazing prom fully equippetPwith coozies and garters. As the seniors' said their final goodbyes, we took over as the senior
class of 20 10 replacing tbS%hor{ shorts and the football" "players". ;

*.' » *

Finally it was August of 2009, and with our new seniority also came the stress and the plague of senioritis. Hundreds

of college letters overflowed our mailboxes, and we began to decide where we would be applying. Class elections Same around
jjttfid we decided to pick a new class president, Jody Hayes, and a new treasurer, Scott Dowling. Throughout the constant stress
of senior year, we still had to pick a theme for our. last Thanksgiving Rally. We decided on "Under the Sea" and immediately
claimed "Finding Nemo". However, our decision was unheard because Mrs. B, the freshmen advisor, .was far too loud and
determined to use the theme for her own class. Instead we wrestled through ideas and finally picked "Spofigebob'Squarepants"
for our underwater skit. Although our skit was hilarious to us, we were proven wrong when the crowd was silent for -the majority
of our skit. Luckily however, the teachers' "skit gave the crowd a comic relief and got their minds off of our Spongy mess. Much
to our embarrassment and breaking the serfior tradition, we cagje in second for skit, however, first for poster andiirst for school _ .
spirit, even with the 65 kids that we had left in our class. We w.ere then informed of this years' prom whose theme, "Fire and Ice",
is a theme we are surprisingly excited' for because the juniors haven't always been known to be the most involved class.

June is approaching and we are running down to our last days at Sputhbridge High School. Graduation is growing
near and as we look back on the last four years, they were right; it was the best time of our life. The unforgettable memories, die
horrible mistakes, and the hilarious stories^ will all be left behind as we embark on our own expedition into to world. .Although
there aren't many of us, we have still grown and matured together, leaving not only the reputation of the smallAt^class to
graduate from Southbridge High, but the class that always came together in the end.

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,

Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,

You never need to carry more than you can hold,

and while you're out there getting where you're getting to,

I hope you know somebody loves you.

' - _L-

Sar

Samatha,

Here you are, a beautiful young lady and beginning
a new adventure in your life. Today is your stepping
stone to become anything you believe you can be.
We are so proud of you. It seems just like yesterday,

"/ hear babies cryin', I watch them grow, they'll learn
much more than I'll ever know, and I think to myself,
what a wonderful world. Yes, I think to myself, what a
wonderful world. "

2010 prophecy

Jody tlay^s

•iti

[.is the year 2035, and the Southbridge High School Class of 2010 is meeting for their 25 th
class feynioh at the Mill Street Brewery. Richie Alcantara, a famous NBA Basketball player for the
Boston'Celtics would have hosted the party with his best friend, Joe Goudreau at-their multi-million
dollar mansion, but since the class is so small, they decided not to waste their time or money. Instead,
Michael. Agbortoko, the 'new Prince of Camaroon, has decided to host it himself- Ashley Anctil and
Molly O'Brien, two very famous artists, have decorated the entire hall for the occasion. The party
• commences with Kiara Cam'acho singing the National Anthem. As she finishes up, Jose Vallejo, the DJ
for the night, begins to spin some ill nasty beats.

Scott Dowling, the most recent winner of the hit television show Are You Smarter Than a Fifth
Grader?, arrives and instantly makes his way to the dance. Bobby Marnalse, the world's skinniest
police officer, has decided to be in charge of$>eb?ir to keep an eye on everyone's behavior. He, of
course, is assisted by personal trainer, Alex '*t<&ol£ at those guns" LePage..

In one corner of the room Donnie Alti'ery,' a World famous barber, is cutting designs into the
scalps of Luis Santos, Luis Mohtalvo, Tofly Perez, Jose Rosario, and Edgar Ortiz (who is scared to dirty
his freshly ironed plaid shirt.) R0se Rivera, who still has her braces on, and whose dimples have gotten
even bigger, arrives with Lesliann DeLeon and Hashian Rosario, who are now married and have twelve
children. After them, Analis Eoae.roUs in on a wheelchair because she has broken both of her legs tin a
performance of The Nutcracker., ••:;_,/ -

As the party lingers {jn, D'Arron McCoy arrives, spotting his old friend Leo Ortega, and runs
up to him making strange noises ^nd performing excessive and unnecessarily long high-fives. The
next couple to arrive is Jamielyn Maldotfado and Paul Wood, who have brought along their seven curly
haired, blue-eyed, children. Brittany Zella and Rachel Young show up next. Haydee Orta's infectious
laugh causes Brittany to emit a high-pitch giggle that breaks every glass in a 10 foot radius.. All of
this noise bothers Kelsi Burns, the newest manager of the CVS Pharmacy in Southbridge, who tells-
everyone to "shut up."

The world's greatest video game champion, Jeremy Wright, comes in with news that Bruce
Lopez couldn't make it because he is in Japan designing a new video game system for Nintendo., Their
friend, Nick Ward", arrives alone,, wearing the same Boston Bruins jersey that he always wore in high
school. Nick's best friend, Dylan, couldn't make, it because we didn't know his exact address on planet
Potato. - /

As a limo pulls into the driveway, a red carpet is rolled across the- threshold, and fireworks
begin to go off. Mary Chouinard and Alina Rudnieva, who now live together in New York City as -
fashion designers, arrive escorted by Cody Mauke, and of course, are fashionably late. They are now
co-owners of a hot new clothing line called Russian Perfection.

The new Bank supervisor at Southbridge High School, Jody Hayes, walks in with Alysha
Healy, who is giving everyone she sees the "stank face". Behind them are Kelly Blake, the owner of
a children's hospital, and her best friend Ryan Olszta, a retired Army lieutenant. Luckily for Chris
Hernandez, 2'5 years has been long enough for him to grow a full length mustache.

Desiree Quinones arrives late because she couldn't decide which jean skirt she wanted to wear.

168

With her are Sarah Maldonado, Sheila Miranda, Jonathan Gonzalez, Yomary Rojas, Miliann Santiago,
and Jon Beauchamp, who's still wearing shorts. Nick Bibeau, however, never shows up at all because
he accidentally went to the Bay Path reunion instead.

Steph Rossi walks into the party alone, but is soon followed by Emily Brogna, who is wearing
the exact same thing. Steph passes out from the shock, and sadly, she is removed from the party by
Nancy Githui, an EMT for the Southbridge Fire Department, who could have seriously used the help
of Nurse Kelsie Tremblay, who, of course shows up almost two hours late.

Rafael Rosado, was known for his fiery red hair, is kicked out of the party because he is
unrecognizable due to the fact that he has permanently died his hair brown. This commotion is soon
forgotten when a loud crash outside shakes the entire building. As everyone runs outside to check
what has happened, the entire class of 2010 witnesses Gabby Palaez crash her soccer mom van into the
brick wall- just outside of the party. The passenger of the car, Danielle Lafleche, owner and creator of a
super strength anti-perspirant deodorant, dramatically informs the crowd that Gabby was simply trying
to do her makeup and text her husband, Tony Perez, while driving. Alexia Collazo, who was also in
the van, jumps .out from the back seaL_ She begins "yelling" at Gabby, but since she constantly has a
smile on her face, everyone 'simply ignores her.

As everyone goes back inside to the party, veterinarian, Sam Jones arrive with friends Nicole
Shilmksi and Kirsty McCormick. They sit with old friends Molly,. Ashley, Rachel and Brittany. As
Nicholas "Vito" Labonte arrives, he makes a b-line straight to their table. Consequently, every time
Brittany even makes a noise, he makes it a point to mimick her, word for word, in a high pitched voice

After everyone shows up, the party begins to get interesting. Caesar Jubin begins kicking
around anything he can find that resembles a soccerball, while Sandra Cartagena starts telling everyone
what is on her mind, and Brett French begins to tell her that she is wrong, because, you know, Brett
French knows everything. *

"In The Air"-begttis playing in the background, and Iesha Torres gets up from her table,
dragging Brittany Sm'ith along with her. She begins, to dance, and everyone gets up and follows her
to the dance floor. ^Unfortunately for Marianne Casiellano, her hair has gotten so long that every time
she tries to dance, she trips over it and hits her^face on a' table. Sadly, Asia Worthen needs to leave the
party early for her night shift as Wal*Mart manager.

• As the party comes to a close, Shalynn Claudio, who was recently selected to be the new
Superintendent in Southbridge, offers a final toast...

"Kiss this Class Goodbye."
